Overview

Working in a team of five, I designed and programmed a trash can that opens itself.

The prototype.

How it works

  • I built a circuit on a Raspberry Pi with a sensor that detects sound.
  • I wrote C++ for the Raspberry Pi to switch on a light source on the board when it hears the cue.
  • A LEGO EV3 reads that light with its own sensor, then opens the lid with an arm motor.
